Bill Johnston October 2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our Club member Bill Johnston.

Members and Council of the Ulster Automobile Club are deeply saddened by the sudden loss of Bill and extend our sincere condolences to his widow Mary and all the members his family circle.

Bill was a quiet, hardworking gentle man, a caring loving husband and devoted motorsport enthusiast.

He was a member of the UAC competitions Committee for more than 25 years and was Clerk of the Course for Craigantlet Hill Climb during the sixties and seventies. He was a highly respected member of the Northern Ireland Motorsport fraternity; so much so, he was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by the ANICC earlier this year in recognition of his outstanding contributions.

He had a great sense of humour and an incredible depth of knowledge and breadth of experience some of which was captured in the 2017 programme for Craigantlet Hill Climb.

Bill will be sadly missed by us all.
